Newly appointed DG of The Department of State Security,lawal Daura has suspended all promotion approved for operatives of the SSS this year by the Immediate past President Jonathan, Marilyn Ogar been one of the victims.
Marilyn Ogar who was the former spokesperson for the Agency, was seen as been partisan,from her frequent and controversial statements, her promotion was seen as a reward from President Jonathan and the PDP.
Mrs Ogar seems to be paying for her loyalty to the past administration, she has been on a 3 years PHD study leave in the Uk under the Approval of the recently fired DG of the DSS,Ita Ekpenyong,but was ordered to return home immediately apart from been demoted.
President Buhari is said to have approved the reversal of those DSS operatives promoted by Jonathan March 31.
DSS promotion is usually done at the end of the year,but these officials were promoted March 31,a memo signed by Toma Minti on behalf of the DSS DG released to the Operatives indicates that the president observes that there were lapses in the promotion done March 31 and has directed a suspension.
