President Jonathan and others mourns as Oronto Douglas is buried

         


President Jonathan, Dickson sarieke and other prominent Nigerian mourn the late presidential Aide Oronto douglas as he was laid to rest yesterday in his home town Okoroba,Nembe  Yenagoa

The president speaking at the funeral service held at St Anglican Church in Yenagoa express the pivotal role played by the late Douglas in the Niger Delta struggle for resource control and environmental restoration.


He said late Douglas as an academic icon, idealist, proactive, strategic and courageous humanitarian who never retracted, once committed to a cause he believed in.making instance of his introducing intellectual activism to the Niger Delta struggle for economic inclusiveness.

He pour praises oh him as a person with "unique personality was worth more than silver and gold"

The President said: “By his contributions, he is worth more that silver and gold and he is leaving at a time he is most needed as he has impacted positively on the people of the State, the Niger Delta and the entire country within the short period of his life on earth.”

The Governor of Bayelsa state,Dickson Sarieke announce scholarship for his children to University level.
