Ms Amina Mohammed, the immediate past Minister of Environment, was on Tuesday sworn-in as the Deputy secretary General of the United Nation at the New York Headquarters by the Secretary General.
She was appointed by António Guterres the Secretary-General of the UN who also administer the Oath of office to her today.
Ms Amina who is the 5th Deputy Secretary General will help to manage the UN Secretariat operations, and “ensuring inter-sectoral and inter-institutional coherence of activities and programmes.
The office of deputy secretary General was established in 1997 to handle many administrative works of the Secretary General.
