The Independent Corrupt Practice and other related offences Commission,ICPC, has commence investigation into some immediate past governor alleged to have been corrupt through a petition written against them.
Four ex Governor currently been investigated are Kwankwaso of Kano,Shema of Katsina,Chime of Enugu and Amaechi of Rivers.
Four teams have been dispatched to the various states to look into the books, according to sources, the teams left Abuja on Monday.The allegation against these ex governor revolves around dubious contract awards and awards of Contracts to cronies and family members.the commission wants all petition investigated to a logical conclusion and those found to have compromised will be brought to book.
“We will ensure that we thoroughly investigate all allegations brought before us so that no body would be left in doubt about our commitment to fighting corruption. The chairman has dispatched a team to the affected states and they are expected to report back in the next two weeks. No body would be spared if found culpable” the source said.
When the resident media consultant to the commission, Folu Olumiti was contacted, neither denied nor confirmed the story.
“I don’t have any comment. I don’t want to comment on an ongoing investigations” he told Vanguard
