Court quashes NDLEA warrant of arrest and extradition Process

High Court sitting in Lagos quash the extradition proceedings and arrest warrant secured by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency against Senator-elect Buruji Kashamu.
The judge held that the provisional warrant of arrest was obtained for want of jurisdiction in the sense that the judge’s attention was not drawn to the existing order barring NDLEA and the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF from taking any further steps on the extradition process.

Justice Buba of the Lagos High court ordered  the NDLEA not to effect the arrest warrant of 25th April 2015 for the extradition of Kashamu to the United States to face trial over drug related offence, the court has also restrain the NDLEA for arraigning kashamu on the extradition case file April 28th.
the restraining orders were necessary so as not to get conflicting orders whilst cases are pending and judgements or orders are also subsisting, including committal proceedings according to Justice Buba

Kashamu has earlier pray the court to nullified the provisional arrest warrant obtained by the NDLEA in order to arrest and extradite him to US to face drug related offences
