Justice Valentine Ashi of Abuja High Court has struck out a law suit brought against Obasanjo by Senator Buruji Kashamu due to application of withdrawal brought before the court by Buruji with the claim both Parties are engaged in on-going settlement move.
Kashamu had on February 6, last year, sued Obasanjo, asking the court to award N20billion as aggravated and exemplary damages, and a N100million against the former President for “maliciously and recklessly” publishing a letter titled: ‘Before it is too late’, addressed to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan in December 2013.
He sued Obasanjo because of his reference to him in his open letter as a fugitive wanted in the US
The senator also try to stop Obasanjo for the launch of his book titled "My Watch" on the ground that the subject of the libel suit was contained in the book.
Obasanjo defies the order,launch the book Dec 5th.the judge issue an other preventing further distribution and duplication of the book.
Trial was to resume when kashamu brought an application for withdrawal.
ObasanjoLawyer denied knowledge of the Claim of any on-going settlement moves.
