The Peoples Democratic Party campaign rally planned to be held in Damaturu, Yobe State Capital have been cancel by the President Jonathan due to unfavorable security reports.
Yobe state is bordered by Borno, which is the home of the founder of Boko Haram,Ibrahim Yusuf killed back in 2009,
The insurgent group in the past 10 days have try to over run Maiduguri, Borno state capital, but were repelled by the military,the APC Presidential Candidate Gen Buhari have also cancel his visit to the state to Maiduguri
It is recalled that Jonathan campaign convoy have been attack in the northern part of Nigeria with stones and other kinds of materials,particularly in Bauchi.
Some presidential staffs were injured and hospitalized from such attack
