IG of Police caution AIG Mbu
The Inspector General of Police Suleiman Abba has warned the AIG Mbu, that the duty of the Police is to protect lives and property of those that pay them not kill them, in responds to media report quoting Mr Mbu who said,he will kill 20 civilian for any policemen kill during the coming elections.the IG warned against any extra judicial killing.
The IG during a meeting with senior officer in Abuja on Saturday cautioned.the in a statement sign by the Police Public Relation Officer Mr Emmanuel Ojukwu
“IG Suleiman Abba, advised all officers of the imperative necessity to apply caution in the use of firearms, warning that except in extreme circumstances, arms shall not be used during the forthcoming elections,” the statement read.
He advise Policeman to obey Police regulation of patience and tolerance in trying situation.
But Mr Mbu who was newly deploy to Lagos held a meeting with officers in Abeokuta and declared that election in this zone will be "fire for fire" if politician decide to play planks
"If one of my men is killed, i shall kill 20 of them ,but don,t shoot first, if they shoot you, shoot back in self defense, anybody fire you , fire back in self defense" Mbu said
His unruly statement has generated public condemnation.
