Bird Flu Spread to 7 States

            

The outbreak of bird flu has spread to more states in Nigeria, the affected states are Lagos ,Delta ,Ogun, Edo, Plateau,Rivers and kano according to the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Adesina Akinwumi in a news conference in Abuja, Wednesday Jan 21st.
According to Nigeria Tribune The Minister said 140,390 Birds have been associated with the out break and 22,573 death has been recorded since the Outbreak since January 8, the minister also said the affected states recorded the highest death of 15,963
The minister have directed nation wide surveillance ,depopulation and quarantine of affected poultry,he said the Ministry is working closely to state government,and the poultry association,and a deployment of veterinary staff across the country to contain the epidemic has been done.
