EFCC Arrest Raymond Dokpesi

   

The ongoing crack down continues, as EFCC arrest the Chairman of Africa Independent Television AIT,Raymond Dokpesi over the arms purchase scandal involving the ex NSA office,and the theft of N2.1 billion from the Central Bank.
Dokpesi was arrested this afternoon and taken to the EFCC office where he is been interrogated.
An EFCC Source told SaharaReporters that the Central Bank Paid Raymond Dokpesi N2.1bn on the instruction of Sambo Dasuki

Boko Haram Member arrested in a Crowded Filling Station With a Bomb

                               

A member of the destructive  Boko Haram sect was on Tuesday arrested with a bomb along Damboa road Maiduguri in a filling station crowded with people waiting to buy fuel.
He was apprehended by a member of the local vigilante group,Civilian JTF while attempted to detonate his explosive.

Police Arrests Suspect Human Trafficker With 26 Children In Ogun State

The police in Ogun on Monday said it arrested three suspected human traffickers with 26 children.
The commissioner of police in the state, Abdulmajid Ali, made this known to journalists in Abeokuta.
Mr. Ali said the suspects, identified as Zainab Ahmed (18), Aisha Abdulahi (55) and Zuliat Abdulmalik (45), were arrested on Sunday at a motor park at Ibafo in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of the state.

The Chinese Yuan has now been approved by the International Monetary Fund, IMF as one of the elite reserved Currency,joining the Dollar,Euro, British Pounds and the Japanese Yen.
With this, the China Yuan will join the dollar,Pound the Euro and Yen next year in the list of official currency the IMF uses as international reserve asset.

Ghost Ship Filled With dead Bodies arrives Japan's Shore

                            

An unsettling mystery has washed up on Japan's shores.Over the past two months, at least eight wooden boats have been found in the Sea of Japan on or near the coast, carrying a chilling cargo -- the decaying bodies of 20 people, Japan's coast guard told CNN.
All of the bodies were badly decomposed and "partially skeletonized" -- two were found without heads -- and one boat contained six skulls, the coast guard said. The first boat was found in October, then a series of boats in late November.

Hostel Fire Kills Seven School Girls

Seven pupils died on Sunday night when a “mysterious” fire razed the Government Girls’ Secondary School (GGSS) at Jogana, Gezawa Local Government Area of Kano State.The fire was said to have started at 8.10pm when the students were preparing to go to bed.
Seven students died during the rush to escape the fire  through a narrow gate,the stampede caused by the rush caused their death,the eight apartment building housing over 200 girls was razed to the ground by fire.

Christian Kabore Elected President of Burkina Faso

Mr Christian Kobore a former Prime Minister of Burkina Faso has won the presidential election according to the electoral Commission.
Mr Kobore  secured 53.5% of the total vote,the Independent National Electoral Commission said there is need for a second round election.
His main rival finance minister Zephirin Diabre secured 21.6% vote.
The election ends the transitional government following the toppling of Compoare who now lives in exil in Ivory Coast

APC Unveils Yahaya Bello as Replacement For Late Abubakar Audu

  

The National working Committee of the All Progressive Congress has unveiled Yahaya Bello as a replacement candidate for late Audu of Kogi state.
He was unveiled at the APC National Headquarters in Abuja on Monday after 3 hours of deliberation.the National Chairman of the Party Chief John Oyegun urged all the Party members to accept the party decision and to ensure the party is victorious in Saturday Supplementary polls.
He explained that the decision to pick Yahaya was out of the need to conform with the country electoral laws and to ensure fairness and cohesion.  

2.9m HIV Positive Nigerians Not On Treatment - Expert

                             

AN estimated 2.9 million people living with HIV/AIDS out of 3.4 million Nigerians diagnosed last year are not receiving treatment needed to suppress the infection. Those affected, most of who are currently living in hiding, are not only at risk of death from HIV related illnesses, but are also infecting new people, causing a surge of the disease.
