The Senate has summon the Comptroller General of Customs Ali Hameed to appear before the Senate Ad-hoc Committee on Import duty waiver, to give explanation on why he lifted the ban on rice importation through land borders.
According to the claims of the senate, restricting rice importation is above his level
Senator Aliero Mohammed who presented the motion on the floor said the decision of the custom boss to lift the ban in land border will worsen the smuggling of rice through land border
