Chief of Army Staff Set To Probe Predecessor

                   

Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen Baratai has set up a Probe Panel to investigate his predecessor on arms procurement from 2010 to 2015,the panel headed by a Brig-General,Four Colonels and 3 Lt Colonel will look into how billions of dollar appropriated for arms was spent.

Buratai who took over from Kenneth Minimal, instituted the Panel after carrying out inventory of the arms available to the army,he discovered what was available to the army was far below what is  supposed to be in stock.The Federal Government has on yearly basis increased Defence Budget since the Insurgents broke out.
The panel is to travel round  all arms depot in the country  and take inventory of specific arms,type and quality,with the actual recommendation,approval and amount released for purchased and what was bought.
The panel is to found out the Names of Contractors ,who executed the jobs, supplied the equipment and at what cost,the panel will also look at arms not supplied and monies allocated  been collected.the COAS probe is not connected to  President Buhari' probe currently at the NSA'Office.
