President Buhari said that his administration will review Nigerian foreign missions abroad to determine those that are essential.he said this after he was briefed by the permanent Secretary Ministry of foreign Affairs,Bulus Lolo,he added that a committee will soon be put in place to review the number of mission abroad and the review will determine the essential one needed to maintain standard and quality.
Nigeria has 119 foreign mission abroad, costing the country N34 billion in 2015 alone.Buhari said there was no need operating foreign mission with dilapidated facilities and demoralized staffs,when their need is questionable.
“Let’s keep only what we can manage. We can’t afford much for now. There’s no point in pretending,” President Buhari told Mr. Lolo and other officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
