Kano State Sacks 2,620 Street Sweepers

                               

Kano State Goverment on Friday terminated the Appointment of 2,620 Street sweeper who were employed by the Refuse Management and Sanitation Board of the State.
The Commissioner of Information Alhaji Muhammed Garba, who addressed Journalist after a weekly Executive Council Meeting  said the disengagement of the sweepers followed the government’s determination to curb unnecessary expenditure.
Garba said the state government was spending N26.2m monthly on street sweepers each been paid N10,000,most of whom don't report for work,adding that their sack will pave way for accountability and probity in the board.
