
A member of the destructive Boko Haram sect was on Tuesday arrested with a bomb along Damboa road Maiduguri in a filling station crowded with people waiting to buy fuel.
He was apprehended by a member of the local vigilante group,Civilian JTF while attempted to detonate his explosive.
Garba Hussaini, an attendant at the filling station, who spoke to Tribune Online in Maiduguri, said: " Today, we are very lucky because there are over 500 people and many vehicles waiting to buy fuel when the sect member came with a five-litre gallon pretending to have come to buy fuel."He said when one of the person controlling the crowd try to stop him from entering with his gallon he got angry and brought out a knife.
"In the process, a member of the Civilian JTF noticed that improvised explosive was tied around his waist and he quickly grabbed him before he could detonate the explosive," he added.
