6000 Megawatt Electricity For Nigerians By March 2016 -Osinbajo
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Monday said the Federal Government had plans to distribute 6,000 megawatts of electricity in the country by the first quarter of 2016.
According to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Vice President, Laolu Akande, Mr. Osinbajo stated this at Kaleta in the Republic of Guinea, at the inauguration of a 240 MW hydro-power plant.

Troops of 3rd Division of the Nigerian army captured a suspected ring leader of Boko Haram, Alhaji Tijjani Usman Damagum.He was tracked and arrested at Damagum town, Yobe State yesterday.Damaguum has led Boko Haram members on various attacks especially in Yobe State.
He is currently undergoing interrogation with a view to arraign him soon.

Zimbabwe’s President Robert Mugabe has rejected calls from the United Nations (UN ) to implement gay rights in his country.
Speaking on September 28, at the 70th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting, Mugabe said that upholding human rights is the obligation of all member states, but vehemently rejected the imposition of what he called “new rights” for gay marriage that have been advocated elsewhere in the world.

83 Senators Co-Sponsored a Motion that gave him vote of confidence.David Umar, Niger East, who read the motion, initially said it was sponsored by 84 Senators; nevertheless, the Chairman Senate Committee on Business and Rules, Babajide Omowarare, Osun East, asked that his name be removed from the list.

Boko Haram Openly Celebrates Sallah
Members of Islamist insurgent group, Boko Haram, apparently gathered in an open field to celebrate Sallah, a Muslim feast that was marked last Thursday, according to a video released by the sect Members of the sect.
In the video, sect members can be seen calmly saying Eid prayers in the company of their families, with a rifle standing upside down.
The video images may be part of the sect’s efforts to counter statements by the Nigerian army that the Islamist insurgent fighters were on a steady retreat, with Nigerian troops seizing a sizeable territory hitherto occupied and controlled by members of the terrorist sect.
Two Anti Narcotics Officials Abscond With Seize Drugs
Two officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, have been declared wanted after absconding with narcotics last month.
Daniel Goska, a Superintendent of Narcotics, and Ndubuisi Ughor, a Chief Narcotic Agent, disappeared from their duty posts after a drug suspect, Dayson-Eddie Ifeanyichukwu, was nabbed with 74.4 kilogrammes of banned drugs at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
Mr. Ifeanyichukwu and three other suspects had been arrested by the anti-narcotics agency for unlawful exportation of the banned drugs.

NAHCON Confirms 54 Nigerian Dead at The Hajj
The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria NAHCON last night confirmed that 54 Nigerians died in the Stampede that occur in Saudi during the stoning of the devil ritual.
